6 House Items to Upgrade for Greater Savings

It may sound counterintuitive, but upgrading some of your home items can actually net you more savings in the long run. When you’ve just moved to a new condo like Grand Zyon, consider purchasing and installing any (or all) of these six items.

Showerhead

Modern showerheads use water more efficiently than older ones. In addition, they have newer technology and features that jet out water even in low-pressure situations. You can still take the same amount of time to shower, but your water bill will go down.

AC / Heater

Energy efficiency is king when it comes to air conditioners and heaters. Most, if not all, will have an EE, or energy efficiency rating. The higher it is, the less electricity the appliance uses. Inverter technology is also a must because it cuts energy consumption by a considerable amount.

Lights

Replace all your traditional light bulbs with LED if you haven’t already. LED bulbs provide better illumination at lower wattage, thus saving you a significant amount. If possible, switch to LED smart lights so they automatically turn off when you turn in for the night.

Refrigerator

Refrigerators also have EE ratings and inverter technology, so they’re the next appliance you should upgrade if you want a lower energy bill overall. As a bonus, modern refrigerators come with neat features such as a door that turns transparent and smart connectivity.

Washing Machine

Front-loading washers and dryers have the edge over the top-loading ones in both water and electricity savings. Front-loaders use less water and energy due to how they operate.

TV

Lastly, get a smart LED TV if the budget allows. Consider an OLED alternative if you have enough saved up. OLEDs offer excellent picture quality and use a fraction of the electricity compared to their plasma counterparts.
